十分喜歡他筆下一個「神偷」的系列，主角尼克。費爾威 (Nick Velvet) 是個職業小偷，專門接受委託盜取「無用之物」。對於委託人來說，那些東西自有其用，所以這系列小說每個故事中必有兩個謎團需要解答，一是為何要偷，二是如何去偷；而所有的內容都必在有限篇幅中完整交代，又具說服力，情節又生動有趣，每次捧讀，都叫我不忍釋卷。
可惜這系列故事，要看齊很困難，因為不論是英文版或是中文版───把繁體字及簡體字版都計算在內───都只是出版過幾本單行本，收錄過的故事遠少於全部的一半，其餘的都只是在雜誌上刊登過，沒獨立出書，歷時多年後，尋找極不容易。
另一喜愛的推理故事「柯賴二氏探案」不論中英都有出版社出過全套，而且編號還跟足寫作順序，且又譯得好看，如此美事，原來是可遇而不可求的幸運；尼克這些故事，就算可以有電子版購買，屬於「用錢解決到的問題」，又是否能出現完整購入所有版權，再找人譯好，順序推出的完美中文版面世呢？恐怕這生都不會看見！
